Long Commutes Every Week Can Be The Bane Of The Working Public’s Life

How many hours every day are lost to the journey to work? We all incorporate into our working lives the extra hours required to get from our house to our place of work. The longer the travel, the higher risk of delays, which mean extra hours to our working week.

Think about a need to take a plane trip from Ireland to London. The flight itself lasts no longer than an hour. Build into that the time it takes to get from home to the airport, from the airport to the office plus the checking in time and already one hour becomes nearer three. If there are hold ups to take off or landing, that can add another hour to the day. If you were one of the unlucky folk trapped on one of the five trains in the Eurotunnel, then in effect you lost a whole day’s work due to commuting difficulties. By now, then, it must be crossing your mind that the opportunity to Work From Home would be such a wonderful idea.

If all the hours consumed by commuting were no longer a part of your regular routine, your work-life balance could be hugely improved. So, what sort of job could you do from home? The choices are numerous. Conceivably it would be possible to Work From Home but continue your current work, especially if the majority of your duties involve Online Jobs. Perhaps you could Work From Home for a portion of the week initially, to see whether it worked both for you and your company and expand this over time.

Maybe if you are going to choose home working, you decide to set up your own company. You may find it is possible to be a consultant, helping other firms with tasks which you used to do as an employee. Perhaps you would like to do something totally different. If you have a certain knowledge of the net, you could choose to work in the Internet Business. Many of these Online Jobs require nothing more than a pc and internet connection to begin. Use any search engine, eg Google or Yahoo! to look for available jobs from home. I found today that there were almost 160million entries for a search to Work From Home. This indicates the size of this market.

Obviously some careers will be better than others. There is never any guarantee that all Internet Business opportunities will be what they look to be, no more than any other job adverts. Also, some search engine results will not really be for exactly what you want. However, it would seem that within the 150million plus entries, there would be some which catch your notice as an area in which you would like to become involved.

Once you have set up your new work lifestyle, you can contemplate how you will spend all those hours which are currently taken up in commuting. In the beginning some of them will probably be used to help you get your new business up and running, but in the long term it may be that you could take up a hobby, spend more time with friends and family, have time to relax. You can feel proud for having managed to move away from the frustration each day of putting up with the commute to and from work.
